About the material cork:
Cork is the bark of the cork tree. This must be at least 25 years old to be "harvested" for the first time. The tree is then harvested every 9 years. The bark is removed from the tree by hand, no harm is done to the tree, it is neither injured nor damaged.
Cork is therefore a sustainable, ecological and renewable resource!
